Beautiful hill country lodging established in 1998

Texas-hill-country-lodging

Our historic cabin was originally built in the 1800's at Cloyd’s Landing on the Cumberland River in Tennessee by A.B. Butler and his wife. The Butlers’ reared eight children in the cabin, which was used as a hospital during the Civil War.

The Dogtrot was purchased in the fall of 1997, disassembled, and brought to Fredericksburg, Texas, where it was reconstructed in the winter of 1997 and the spring of 1998.

Following seven months of reconstruction The Dogtrot at Triple Creek opened as a Fredericksburg, Texas bed and breakfast in the spring of 1998.

For the first 12 years of our operations, guests were greeted upon their arrival by our golden retriever Gypsy. While Gypsy is no longer with us, many of our long-time repeat visitors have fond memories of her.

We celebrated our 20th year operating The Dogtrot in 2018.

We look forward to your stay.
